Denmark: Business confidence decreases slightly in August

Business confidence among firms in the manufacturing sector decreased slightly to minus 10 in August, from July’s minus 7, thus remaining below the 0-point threshold separating pessimism from optimism among businesses.

Meanwhile, although it remained positive, sentiment in the retail sector slightly decreased to 5 in August from July’s 10. On the positive side, sentiment in the construction sector slightly improved, while in the service sector confidence climbed up, although both remained negative overall.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment to decrease 6.5% in 2020, which is up 0.5 percentage points from last month’s forecast, before expanding 2.5% in 2021.
