Czech Republic: Industrial output growth inches up in December

February 10, 2021

Industrial production expanded 0.5% year-on-year in working-day adjusted terms in December, which followed November’s 0.4% increase. December’s rise came mainly on the back of an expansion in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 7.8% from November’s minus 8.1%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.2% in seasonally-adjusted terms in December, contrasting November’s 1.7% decrease.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 7.4% in 2021, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2022, they see industrial production growing 4.2%.
