Costa Rica: Consumer prices fall at the softest pace in a year in June
Latest reading: Consumer prices declined 0.3% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 1.0% decline in the prior month. June’s reading was the highest in a year.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.7% in annual terms vs -3.9% in May), transportation (+4.3% vs +0.6% in May) and housing (-0.8% vs -1.2% in May).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.71% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.27% increase in the previous month.
