Colombia: Manufacturing activity growth slows in February
Manufacturing output expanded 10.7% in year-on-year terms in February, which was a deterioration from January’s 14.7% increase. Looking at the details of the release, 32 out of the 39 total subsectors recorded growth in February, down from the total 37 that clocked increases in January. February’s slowdown was largely driven by clothing manufacturing output and beverage production expanding at more moderate paces than in January.
Still, annual average manufacturing output growth rose to 18.1% in February (January: +17.2%). This signals an improving trend in the manufacturing sector.
