Belgium: Industrial output bounces back in January
Industrial output rose 3.8% year-on-year in calendar adjusted terms in January, which contrasted December’s 3.9% decrease. January’s turnaround largely reflected an improvement in manufacturing and mining and quarrying output.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 3.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, rebounding from December’s 1.5% fall. Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 3.4%, up from December’s minus 3.7%.
