Belarus: Industrial output records quickest growth since December 2019 in June

Industrial output rose 0.9% year-on-year in June (May: -4.3% yoy). The print marked the strongest rise since December 2019. Manufacturing and water supply expanded somewhat. On the downside, the mining subsector contracted.

Moreover, the trend improved slightly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.6%, up from May's minus 0.8% reading.

FocusEconomics panelists project that industrial production will shrink 4.9% in 2020, which is up 0.8 percentage points from last month’s projection. In 2021, industrial output is seen increasing 1.7%.
