Austria: Industrial production growth moderates in December
February 23, 2018
Industrial production grew 3.5% in annual terms in December, decelerating from the 3.6% growth rate in November. Growth in December was driven by a robust and broad-based performance, with only production of durable consumer goods contracting.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production decreased 1.0% in December, contrasting November’s revised 0.9% increase (previously reported: 0.1% month-on-month). The contraction was the result of a month-on-month decrease in the production of manufacturing and energy production. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production came in at 3.5% in December, marginally down from November’s 3.6%.
