Austria Consumer Confidence October 2021

Austria: Consumer sentiment improves in October

Consumer confidence came in at minus 2.0 in October, up from September’s minus 3.0. As a result, the index moved closer to, but remained below, the neutral zero-point threshold and continued to indicate that pessimism prevailed among Austrian consumers.

The uptick came on the back of more upbeat views on the financial situation of households and the general economy in the next 12 months. Moreover, attitudes towards the economy in the past 12 months turned notably less pessimistic, while consumers viewed the current financial situation of households slightly more favorable.
