GDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina - GDPThe economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) picked up the slack in the third quarter. It expanded 2.5% in annual terms, doubling the almost two-year-low print observed in the second quarter of 2016. In December, the government secured loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and from the European Commission to support the country’s EU integration. The almost EUR 90 million EBRD loan is conditional on a parliamentary increase of excise taxes on fuel. However, disagreement between Bosnia’s two autonomous regions on how to share the tax revenue have stalled the passing of the law in parliament, along with EUR 300 million in loans from the EBRD.
