GDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina - GDPThe absence of national account data from this year is hampering efforts to gauge the health of the economy. Nevertheless, the most recent data from the real and external sectors suggests that the positive momentum from the second half of last year carried into 2017. Exports expanded 17.3% in the January-to-May period thanks to strong demand for manufactured products in EU and CEFTA countries. Tourist arrivals in April expanded by almost 50% compared to the previous month and by almost 20% compared to the same month in 2016. Lastly, following the IMF’s decision to suspend funding disbursements due to reform delays, the country’s autonomous governments have issued debt to plug budget shortfalls and finance maturing debt.
