Uganda - Current AccountAvailable data points to sturdier growth in the second half of the year, following a relatively soft patch in the second quarter. Robust PMI readings in October and November reflected strong dynamics in the private sector, both propped up by solid output and new orders growth. In addition, the business tendency indicator soared to a one-year high in November, led by improved sentiment in the trade and services sectors. Solid survey data came hand in hand with strong economic activity readings: The composite index of economic activity hit an all-time high in October, signaling that growth momentum carried over into the fourth quarter from the third.
