International Reserves in Paraguay
Paraguay - International ReservesThe economy appeared to recover in the third quarter, after contracting in the first half of the year. Following August’s rebound, economic activity strengthened further in September. Upbeat retail sales in September hinted at stronger household spending amid easing inflation, while improved private sector activity in the same month likely supported capital investment. In addition, the external sector appears to have weighed less heavily on growth in Q3, as merchandise exports contacted at a softer pace than in the previous quarter amid upbeat shipments of cereals. Meanwhile, after concluding a visit to the country on 12 November, the IMF remarked that the economy should turn a corner next year as the all-important agriculture sector rebounds on improved weather conditions.
