Exchange Rate in Montenegro
Montenegro - Exchange Rate (average of period)The economy accelerated slightly in the second quarter, on the back of robust household spending amid a falling unemployment rate and strong credit growth. Moreover, solid export growth and a softer contraction in industrial production also supported economic activity in Q2. Turning to the third quarter, the economy should have gained further steam. Household spending likely strengthened as reflected by retail sales picking up pace at the onset of Q3 and amid falling annual consumer prices in July–August. In addition, average industrial production grew in the first two months of Q3, contrasting the previous two quarters and boding well for overall growth. Moreover, annual tourist arrivals were firm in July, while year-on-year merchandise exports surged in July–August which should have powered the external sector.
