Interest Rate in Moldova
Moldova - Interest RateThe economy grew 4.3% in the third quarter, down from the 5.8% expansion recorded in the second quarter. Although private consumption gathered momentum, fixed investment growth nearly halved largely due to easing construction activity. Meanwhile, the external sector continued to weigh on the headline reading in Q3, as rising exports were broadly offset by a parallel jump in imports. Turning to the fourth quarter, growth appears to have been largely sustained. On the one hand, upbeat retail sales and healthy credit growth in October hint that consumption likely maintained its momentum at the start of Q4. On the other hand, easing industrial production and receding merchandise exports growth in the same month suggest that the external sector’s weakness persisted.
