Public Debt in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina - Public DebtThe economy likely remained sluggish in the third quarter after slowing in the second quarter. Industrial production contracted at a sharper rate in Q3 than in Q2, weighed on by a marked decline in energy generation and ongoing weakness in the manufacturing sector. This spilled over into the external sector, with merchandise exports contracting again in Q3; however, a downturn in imports should have lessened the drag from net trade on GDP. Moreover, the delayed government formation and political uncertainty likely dampened the business climate and investment plans. That said, in late November the government standstill came to a close one year after elections when the tripartite presidency elected a new Chairman of the Council of Ministers, paving the way for the formation of the state government.
