Interest Rate in Albania
Albania - Interest RateThe economy appeared to continue cooling in the third quarter. Growth in annual tourist arrivals slowed markedly from the second quarter; the tourist sector likely felt the pinch from an unsupportive base effect and a stronger currency, reducing price attractiveness of the country. Meanwhile, a severe drought in the quarter continued to hamstring the power-generation sector, which seemingly persisted at the outset the fourth quarter: Merchandise exports fell markedly in October, partly on the back of a drop in falling power-related outbound shipments. In other news, Albania signed a declaration with North Macedonia and Serbia to ensure the free movement of goods and people within the region by 2021. The deal should strengthen regional economic cooperation and trade.
