Poland: Business sentiment weakens in September

September 28, 2022

Business confidence fell to minus 18.8 in September from August's minus 15.2, marking the worst reading since November 2020. As a result, the index moved further below the 0-threshold, indicating more pronounced pessimism among businesses.

Businesses’ expectations turned more negative over future production, orderbooks, employment and the future general economic situation. That said, firms turned less downbeat regarding the current financial situation, orderbooks and production.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 6.3% in 2022, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. For 2023, the panel sees fixed investment growth at 5.9%.
