France: Business confidence jumps to near two-year high in April
Business confidence jumped to 104 in April from March’s 99, thus marking the best reading since May 2019. As a result, the index moved above the 100-threshold, which indicates its long-term average, for the first time since February 2020.
With regard to demand, firms’ personal production expectations turned more optimistic in April, while their perception of new export order books as well as overall order books improved. However, employment intentions weakened somewhat compared to the prior month.
