Marta Casanovas is our Head of Research and oversees our day-to-day economic coverage. Marta joined FocusEconomics in 2020 and has developed a strong track record since then. She has a strong interest in emerging and developing markets, and currently produces research on Brazil and is the regional economist for Sub-Saharan Africa. Before, she was the regional economist for the Nordic Economies and for Central America and the Caribbean. She holds an MSc in Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets from the Barcelona School of Economics and a BSc in Economics from the Pompeu Fabra University.
