Exports in North Macedonia

North Macedonia - Exports
After the economy lost steam in the fourth quarter of last year, growth likely continued to cool in the first quarter of 2022. Industrial output volume contracted notably on average in January–February, with the manufacturing sector suffering in particular as Covid-19 ran rampant. Moreover, employment levels within the industrial sector also dropped in the same two months compared to the prior year, which, combined with rising consumer price inflation, will likely have weighed on private consumption in the quarter. Furthermore, domestic industrial turnover dropped significantly in January and February. More positively, foreign demand seemingly firmed in the first two months of the quarter as industrial turnover on the non-domestic market skyrocketed.North Macedonia - Exports Data
