Over the last decade, Mexico's unemployment rate has remained below 5%, despite spiking during the pandemic. The unemployment has generally been on a downward trend, and reached the lowest rate since the early 2000s at the end of 2024. The unemployment rate averaged 4.0% in the decade to 2022, below the 8.2% average for Latin America. The unemployment rate in Mexico in 2022 was 3.3%.
