GDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina - GDPThe economy hit a speed bump in Q2, with growth decelerating from 2.8% in Q1 to 1.7%, the weakest reading in more than two years. Softer GDP growth was partially caused by unfavorable weather conditions, which dragged on agricultural output and construction activity. However, the panorama appears to have been rosier in Q3, with industrial production gaining momentum on the back of robust manufacturing output growth. The external sector is also expected to have buttressed growth on account of a booming tourist sector. However, Parliament’s reticence to reduce public spending ahead of next year’s October elections continues to weigh on sentiment and is keeping the economy out of reach of the second tranche of IMF funding under the Extended Fund Facility.
