Vietnam: Inflation rises in May
Latest reading: Inflation inched up to 3.2% in May from April’s 3.1%. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices plus education costs rose at a quicker pace. Moreover, transportation costs declined at a milder rate. On the flip side, price pressures for food softened.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 3.3% in May (April: 3.4%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.16% in May over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.07% rise recorded in April.
