Vietnam: Inflation holds steady in April
Latest reading: Inflation was stable at March’s 3.1% in April, remaining below the government’s 4.5% inflation target. Stronger price pressures for food, plus housing and utilities, offset a steeper decline in transportation costs, driven by lower oil prices.
The trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation inching down to 3.4% in April (March: 3.5%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.07% in April over the previous month, contrasting the 0.03% fall seen in March.
