Vietnam: Inflation dips sharply in June
According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, consumer prices fell 0.09% in June over the prior month, contrasting May’s 0.49% increase. June’s fall was driven by lower prices for transport, communication and housing.
Inflation declined from 2.9% in May to 2.2% in June, remaining in line with the Central Bank’s target of below 4.0% inflation. Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up from 1.9% to 2.0%.
