Ukraine: Inflation slows in October from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 10.9% in annual terms in October, following a 11.9% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+15.6% in annual terms vs +17.4% in September) and transportation (+5.4% vs +5.8% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels in October (+2.4% vs +2.3% in September).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices rose 10.2% in annual terms in October, following a 11.0% increase in the prior month.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.90% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.30% rise in the previous month.
