Ukraine: Inflation drops to single digits in June

Consumer prices were stable in month-on-month terms for the second consecutive month in June (May: +0.0% month-on-month). According to the State Statistics Service, prices for 7 of the 10 components of the index rose from the previous month. Higher fuel costs were offset by lower food prices.
Inflation decelerated from 11.7% in May to 9.9%, the lowest reading since September 2016. Meanwhile, annual average inflation fell from 14.3% to 13.9%, which marked a 10-month low.
Ukraine Inflation Forecast
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to end 2018 at 9.3%, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2019, the panel sees year-end inflation easing to 7.1%.
