Ukraine: Industrial output hits over four-year low in November

December 27, 2019

Industrial production plunged 7.5% over the same month last year in November, which marked the worst reading since July 2015. The result was a notable deterioration from October’s 5.0% drop. Broad-based weakness across the mining and quarrying, and manufacturing sectors drove the contraction.

Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with annual average variation in industrial production coming in at minus 1.4% in November, down from October’s minus 0.8%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial output will grow 2.2% in 2020, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2021, the panel expects industrial production to rise 3.0%.
