UAE: Inflation picks up in September from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices in Dubai rose 2.9% in annual terms in September, following a 2.4% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages in September (+0.2% on a year-on-year basis vs -0.4% in August) and transportation (-0.9% vs -3.5% in August). In contrast, price pressures reduced for housing and utilities (+5.8% vs 6.0% in August).
Lastly, consumer prices in Dubai were up 0.44% in September on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.11% rise in the previous month.
