Turkey: Industrial production shrinks in September
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 2.2% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in September, following 0.5% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, the reading for manufacturing softened in September (-2.3% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.8% in August). In contrast, readings picked up for mining and quarrying (+1.2% vs 0.0% in August) and energy (-2.4% vs -2.5% in August).
In annual terms, industrial production rose 2.8% in September, following 7.4% growth in the previous month.
