Turkey: Economic sentiment falls in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 96.0 in July from June’s 96.6. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the services sector. Moreover, consumer confidence cooled in July. Nevertheless, sentiment in the industrial, construction and retail sectors improved.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were unchanged, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in July.
