Turkey Consumer Confidence October 2020

Turkey: Consumer confidence dips slightly in October.

October 22, 2020

Consumer confidence ticked down mildly to 81.9 in October from September's 82.0. As a result, the index remained below the 100-threshold, separating pessimism from optimism among consumers.

The fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers’ views of the general economic climate in the year ahead and their financial situation at present. Moreover, sentiment regarding the labor market outlook deteriorated. In brighter news, expectations regarding the financial situation in the next 12 months inched up.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption decreasing 2.1% in 2020 and increasing 4.6% in 2021.
