Thailand: Manufacturing output drops for 11th-consecutive month in March
Manufacturing output fell 11.3% year-on-year in March, down from the 5.2% contraction in the prior month and marking the 11th consecutive month of shrinking production. March’s figure was underpinned by drops in automotive; petroleum refining products; basic iron and steel; food; rubber and plastic; and apparel production. Annual average production contracted 5.0% in March, down from February’s 4.3% fall.
Meanwhile, manufacturing production rose 1.9% month-on-month in March, swinging from the 1.4% drop recorded in February.
