Taiwan: Inflation drops in April
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 2.0% in April, which was down from March’s 2.3%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and housing grew at a more moderate pace in April while transportation prices contracted at a faster pace.
The trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.2% in April (March: 2.1%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.27% in April over the previous month, accelerating from March’s 0.05% rise.
