Switzerland: Consumer prices fall on an annual basis in October

Consumer prices fell by 0.2% in October, following a 0.1% dip in September. Lower prices for international holiday packages, hotel accommodation and certain food items caused the decline.

Consumer prices fell 0.3% over the same month a year prior in October, after rising 0.1% in September. Deflationary pressures were chiefly the result of lower import costs amid a strong franc. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down to 0.5% from 0.6% in September.
