Switzerland: Inflation remains muted in August
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 0.2% in August, unchanged from July and one of the world’s lowest readings. In August, prices rose for clothing and housing, and fell for food plus transport.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at July’s 0.4% in August. Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 0.7% in August from the previous month’s 0.8%.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.08% in August over the previous month, a sharper drop than July’s 0.04% fall. August’s result marked the weakest reading since November 2024.
