Sweden: Industrial production loses momentum in September
November 5, 2018
Total industrial production excluding energy increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.2% in September over the previous month, down from August’s revised 0.5% increase (previously reported: +0.6% mom), according to Statistics Sweden. September’s slowdown was driven by a loss of momentum in the manufacturing sector, which more than offset a rebound in the mining and quarrying sector.
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production grew 1.7% in September, down from August’s 2.8% growth. Annual average growth in industrial production was unchanged at 4.6% in September.
Sweden Industrial Production Forecast
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will increase 2.3% in both 2019 and 2020.
