Sweden: Economic sentiment increases in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 95.0 in July from June’s 94.4. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print revealed improved confidence in the services and retail sectors in July; consumer sentiment also improved in the surveyed month. Conversely, sentiment declined in the industrial and construction sectors.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened and the economic uncertainty index decreased in July.
