Sweden: Economic sentiment increases in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 96.9 in September, following August’s 96.5. Still, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In September, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (-3.4 vs -3.8 in August) and among consumers (-4.8 vs -6.5 in August). On the flipside, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-16.9 vs -12.3 in August), the services sector (+17.0 vs +17.1 in August) and the retail sector (+18.4 vs +19.9 in August).
