Spain: Retail sales growth stabilizes in September
Latest reading: Retail sales were up 0.5% in working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in September, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s data, the reading for single retail stores improved in September (+0.7% in working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +0.1% in August). In contrast, readings softened for large chain stores (+1.0% vs +1.1% in August) and small chain stores (-1.0% vs +1.8% in August).
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales rose 4.2% in September, following a 4.7% rise in the previous month.
