Spain: Retail sales slow in final month of 2019
Retail sales rose 1.9% year-on-year in December 2019, easing from the 3.0% increase logged in November. December’s moderation reflected slower growth in sales of personal equipment goods and a fall in food sales.
On a distribution-based system, purchases at single retail, department, and small and large chain stores all lost pace compared to November.
Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth edged up to 2.4% in December from 2.2% in the previous month.
