Spain: Industrial production shrinks in July
Latest reading: Industrial production declined 0.5% on a working day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in July, following a 0.8% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, production readings in July softened for capital goods (-3.6% vs +1.0% in June), intermediate goods (+0.3% vs +1.5% in June) and energy (-2.7% vs +4.3% in June). In contrast, the reading for consumer goods improved in July (+0.2% vs -0.3% in June).
In working day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production increased 2.5% in July, following 1.9% growth in the previous month.
