Spain: Economic sentiment decreases in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 101.7 in August from July’s 104.7. However, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
According to available data, the deterioration was driven by weaker confidence in the construction sector. Moreover, sentiment in the industrial sector declined.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations worsened, while the economic uncertainty index rose in August.
