According to Statistics South Africa, manufacturing output grew 1.6% over the same month a year earlier, down from October’s revised 2.8% rise (previously reported: +3.0% year-on-year). November’s print reflected gains in the food and beverage; and textile industries. For its part, the automobile industry notched upbeat gains.
In month-on-month terms, manufacturing output rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.7% (October: +1.1% month-on-month s.a.). Meanwhile, annual average growth in manufacturing output was stable from October at 1.3%.
