November 18, 2022

Harmonized inflation came in at 10.3% in October, down from September’s 10.6%. October's figure marked the lowest inflation rate since May. The reading was driven by lower price pressures for transport. That said, food inflation continued to accelerate.

Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 8.4% in October (September: 7.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation edged down to 9.8% in October, from the previous month's 10.0%.

Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.80% from the previous month in October, contrasting September's 0.30% fall.

FocusEconomics analysts project harmonized inflation to average 6.1% in 2023, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast, and 2.8% in 2024.
