Slovakia: Harmonized inflation stabilizes in July
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at June’s 4.6% in July, remaining among the highest in the Euro area. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, plus housing and utilities, rose at a quicker pace, offsetting softer price pressures for transport.
Still, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 3.9% in July (June: 3.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 4.4% in July from June’s 4.3%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.35% from the previous month in July, picking up from the 0.27% increase logged in June.
