Slovakia: Inflation picks up in September from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 4.6% in annual terms in September, following a 4.4% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+4.3% in annual terms vs +2.1% in August), recreation (+5.5% vs +4.6% in August) and restaurants and hotels (+9.4% vs +9.3% in August). In contrast, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.6% vs +3.9% in August) and housing and utilities (+2.8% vs +3.1% in August).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 4.3% in September, following a 4.2% increase in the previous month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were up 0.19% in September in month-on-month terms, following a 0.10% increase in the previous month.
