Slovakia: Economic sentiment picks up in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 92.9 in June, up from May’s 91.3. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment among consumers and in the services plus construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the retail sector improved. Meanwhile, sentiment in the industrial sector waned.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were unchanged, while the economic uncertainty index improved in June.
