Saudi Arabia: Inflation rises in September from August
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 2.1% on a year-on-year basis in September, following a 2.3% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, price pressures fell for housing and utilities (+5.2% in annual terms vs +5.8% in August). In contrast, there were higher price pressures for transportation (+1.6% vs +1.1% in August).
Finally, consumer prices were flat in September on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.18% increase in the previous month.
