Russia: Inflation decelerates in September from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 8.0% in annual terms in September, following a 8.1% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for non-food goods (+3.8% on a year-on-year basis vs +3.9% in August) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (+9.5% vs +9.8% in August). Finally, the change in services prices was the same as in the prior month (+11.1% in September and August).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices increased 7.7% in annual terms in September, following a 8.0% increase in the previous month.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.34% in September in month-on-month terms, following a 0.40% fall in the prior month.
