Consumer prices rose 0.4% month-on-month in January, matching December’s climb. The largest increase was recorded for prices for food, followed by non-food goods and services.
Inflation slipped to 3.6% in January from 4.0% in December, which had marked a five-month high, thus landing slightly above the Central Bank’s 1.5%–3.5% target range. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched up to 3.9% in January from 3.8% in December.
